- MacOS™ System Software version 7, 8 or 9.
- A 68020, 68030, 68040 processor or a PowerPC™ 601, 603,
603e, 604, G3, or G4 processor. This includes the Mac II, Centris,
Quadra, Powerbook, Power Macintosh, Performa, iMac, G3, iBook, and
G4 lines.
Windows version:
- Windows™ 95, 98, NT, 2000.
- Any Intel™ or Intel compatible x86 or Pentium™
processor.
What it does:
Decoder will decode any file that has been encoded using the
uuencode, binhex, AppleSingle, MacBinary (I, II, or III), or MIME
encoding formats. Just drop a file, multiple files, or a folder, onto
Decoder icon or window and it (they) will be decoded. Decoder will
determine the encoding method and decode accordingly.
What it does not do:
Decoder only finds and extracts encoded files. It does not change
the original file that you attempt to decode. It just finds files
that were encoded in some other document (like a MIME e-mail message)
and saves those documents to new files on your machine.
It does not open any decoded documents, such as those you might
receive via e-mail. Decoder only extracts the original documents that
were sent. It is then your responsibility to have an application that
can open the decoded documents.
